You can track where your registrants come from by adding a source value to your form link. Whatever value is in the link when someone registers is saved in that registration's Source field.
Add a source to your form link
- Get your form link. Go to Plan > Forms, preview the registration form, and copy the URL from the address bar.
- Add the source to the end. Add &source= followed by your value. For example, if your link ends in ?PKformID=123456abcd, it becomes ?PKformID=123456abcd&source=newsletter. Keep the value short, with no spaces.
- Make one link per channel. For example, source=email for your invite and source=linkedin for social posts. Share each link only in its channel.
Check the link before you send it. The value can't be changed after people register with it (see below).
See the source
On one registration: open the registration. Source shows on the Overview page.
For everyone, in a report:
- Go to Reports and click Add Report.
- Enter a report name, choose the Registrations report type, and save.
- Click Columns in the left menu, add Source to the display columns, and save.
- Click Run Report.
Source and Source of Profile: These are two different fields. Source is the value from the form link. Make sure your report uses Source.
Can I change the source on a registration that's already in?
No. The source is saved when the person registers, and it can't be changed in Certain, by import, or through the API.
If a link went out with the wrong value:
- Fix the link right away so new registrations get the right source.
- To correct registrations already made, contact Certain Support with the registration codes. These corrections take extra time, so send them all in one request.
Next step: Build your links for each channel and test one with a test registration before you send them.
