or Edit Custom Field
The information you enter for each custom field includes:

Field Type – (Required) Select one of the seven question types in the list, as described briefly on-screen, and in detail under Field Type Options below.

Name – (Required)

Description
-
Code – (Required) Must be unique in the event. (Note: Uniqueness is regardless of Class: you can't have a Speaker custom field and a Session custom field with the same code, for example.)

Error Message – Reserved for future use

Class – (Required) Select the class (the type of record) on which the custom field can be used: SESSION or SPEAKER.

SESSION – Session custom fields are for use on session records, which are you set up on Manage > Speakers & Sessions > Sessions.
(The field would need to be included on the Session Layout set up on Manage > Speakers & Sessions > Setup > Layout.) -
SPEAKER – Speaker custom fields are for use on speaker records, which you set up on Manage > Speakers & Sessions > Speakers.

REVIEW_SESSION – Session review custom fields are for use on session reviews. You can add such fields to the Review Sessions page of the Reviewer Portal: see Manage > Speakers & Sessions > Speaker Portal > Pages > Review Sessions. Reviewers can then use them as part of their reviews. Field Type Options
The options available for Field Type (the first field listed above):
Text, File, Text Area, Radio, Checkbox, Select, or Select Multiple, as described below.
Your selection determines the extra fields displayed for you to complete.

Text – A basic text field into which users can enter text or numbers.
Extra fields: -
Rich Text – If selected, the user can style the text and add hyperlinks.
Note: Available only if you select a Field Size of "Large". -
Field Size – The size of the field the user sees: Short or Large.
Maximum length of text the user can enter is 4000 characters, whichever display size you choose. -
Ratings/Score – Can only be selected for questions in the SESSION_REVIEW class.
The reviewer can enter a number in the manner specified. The range in all cases is 0–10.
Extra fields are radio buttons, so select one of the five: -
Input – If selected, a reviewer enters (types) a number.

Dropdown – If selected, a reviewer selects a number from a drop-down list.

Slider – If selected, a reviewer slides an indicator to the number's position on a horizontal line.

Star – If selected, a reviewer clicks a star in a row of them.
-
Thumbs Up – If selected, a reviewer clicks a "thumbs up" symbol in a row of them.

Smiley – If selected, a reviewer clicks a smiley in a row of them.

File –
A basic single file upload.
The user will Browse to select a file on their computer, and click Upload to upload it to the event.
Note: When displayed, the Custom Field Type will display the file path to the document, as well as a thumbnail, file name, and file size.
Extra fields: None. -
Text Area –
A larger text box than the simple Text field described above.
Extra fields: -
Rich Text – If selected, the user can style the text, and add hyperlinks.

Field Size – The size of the field the user sees.
The maximum length of text the user can enter is 4000 characters, regardless of the Field Size you choose. -
Radio –
Single selection. A list of radio buttons, for selecting one out of around 2—10 items.
Extra fields: -
Include an "Other" Option with Entry Field – If selected, the list of options will end with an "Other" and a text field in which the user can type their own text.
You can enter a label for this field to replace the default "Other". -
List Options – Enter a Name, Value, and Code for each option to be displayed in the list. (All three are required.)
Two rows are provided by default. Click Add Another Option to add more.
Default: Select one to be the default choice on a new record.
Clickto delete an option.
Drag options up and down to set display order. -
Checkbox –
A multi-select option; usually for, say, 5–10 options. The user selects one or more check boxes
Extra fields: -
List Options – Enter a Name, Value, and Code for each check box. (All three are required.)
Two rows are provided by default. Click Add Another Option to add more.
Default: Select one to be the default choice on a new record.
Clickto delete an option.
Drag options up and down to set display order. -
Select –
Users can select one option from a Drop-down List. Good for long lists.
Extra fields: -
