Settings (Speaker Portal)
This page displays and enables you to edit some general settings for the Speaker Portal for an event.
The Speaker and Session Management Module and its Conference Sessions sub-module must be enabled for the event (in Plan > Configure > Options > Functional Areas Needed by This Event).
Each event may have just one speaker portal.
Note: Once you have saved the settings on this page, the other links, Layout & Color, Branding, and Pages, in the Left Navigation Panel are enabled for you to configure all aspects of the speaker portal.

-
Name – (Required) May contain letters and numbers only; no special characters.
-
Google Analytics Tracking ID – Initially, this field contains the event-level tracking ID (if one was specified) from Plan > Configure > Options.
You can optionally specify a separate Google Analytics Tracking ID for a Speaker Portal. This enables you to track visits to Speaker Portal pages separately from visits to registration form and event website pages.
If you do not enter a separate Tracking ID here, visits to Speaker Portal pages will be tracked using the event-level code, if there is one.
(If you do enter a tracking code here, then when you are logged into Google Analytics you can go to Content > Event > Overview to see the visit statistics for each Speaker Portal page separately: My Information, My Tasks, My Sessions, etc.)
For full details of setting up Google Analytics in Certain, see this PDF guide. -
Web URL – The URL of the Speaker Portal for this event. Click to highlight it so that you can copy it for pasting elsewhere. Click the 5 icon to open the HTML5 Speaker Portal in a new browser window.
-
Login Timeout – A number of hours. If a logged in speaker is inactive for this long, they are prompted to log in again.
Blank = no timeout applies.
Must be a whole positive number (1 or greater) if entered. Default = 360 hours. -

Sessions/Abstracts submitted through the Speaker Portal – Select one of the two options:
- Will stay in 'Submitted' status – (Default selection) Planners can then move abstracts to 'Under Review' or qualify them directly. (See Speakers and Sessions Session Reviews Manage Reviews" style="display: inline; font-family: Lato, Verdana, Arial, Verdana, Verdana, Verdana, Verdana, Verdana, Verdana, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(22, 7, 255); text-decoration: underline; font-weight: normal;"Manage Reviews.)
-
Will automatically move to 'Under Review' status – Reviewers can then take action using the Reviewer Portal.
Best Practice: Don't select this option unless the event will have a Reviewer Portal.
-
Speaker Portal Emails – If you have set any up in advance, select the email to be sent for each of the events listed. (More events may be added in future releases.)
The email templates you choose from are those created on Promote > Communication > Speaker Email Templates.
If you don't select existing templates here, then defaults are created and selected automatically when you first save the settings on this page. Successful Submission – Sent when the speaker submits their session. (It has an initial status of 'Submitted'.)
-
Session Approved – Sent when a planner changes the session status to 'Qualified'.
-
Session Task Assigned – Sent when a new task is assigned to a "master speaker" on this session (not to a co-speaker, and not when a task is updated).
-
-
Linked Registration – If selected, an event registration for the speaker profile will be created when the speaker record is created. The speaker will be a registrant as well as a speaker.
