Pages (Speaker Portal)
On this page you can:
-
choose which pages are included in the Speaker Portal for an event, and in what order
-
customize the titles and icons to be used for those pages on the navigation bar
-
edit certain pages
-
add new pages
-
preview the site
To add new pages, click Add New.
To edit a page, click in the Actions column for that page's row in the list of pages.
Preview
To preview the site, click Preview Site (upper right).
That opens a pop-up "lightbox" window with these two icons; one each for tablet and desktop/laptop:
Click the icon to see the site formatted for that device.
You can navigate around the site the same way a speaker would. For example, click a page icon to show that page.
Click Close to close the pop-up window and return to the configuration page.
Pages
The list of pages is shown, one row per page, with these columns:

Icon – The icon shown on the navigation bar (when Icons & Titles is selected for display on the Layout & Color configuration page).

To use a different icon, click the adjacent down-arrow to select a new one from the large built-in library.

In the Select Icon pop-up window that's then displayed, you can search for icons by typing any part of the image name.
Examples: home, info, task. -
You can scroll down in the Select Icon window to see all the icons and select one.

The color of the icons when shown in the app is determined by the palette chosen on Choose Palette" style="display: inline; font-family: Lato, Verdana, Arial, Verdana, Verdana, Verdana, Verdana, Verdana, Verdana, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(22, 7, 255); text-decoration: underline;"Layout & Color.

Title – The name shown on the navigation bar; for example, "My Information" for the My Information page, etc.
Click a title to edit it.
Best practice: Keep titles short, to maximize legibility on a mobile device.

Show – Set to Yes to include the page in the speaker portal. (Available, and selected by default, for all pages except Login and Register Speaker.)

Actions – With these icons:
Edit the page content. Available only for the pages marked "editable" below.
Delete the page. Available only for pages you have added.
Warning: Once you have deleted a page, it cannot be recovered. -
Grab to Reorder – With this icon:
Change the order of pages by dragging and dropping.
Note: The Login page has a padlock instead of a hand, because it cannot be moved.
List of Pages
The content and layout of some of the standard pages are fixed.
The majority are editable, and have an edit icon in the Actions column. And if you add new page(s), you add and configure all their content.

Login – The page on which a speaker can submit a proposal, or can sign in to their personalized Speaker Portal. (Editable.)

My Information – The speaker's information, as entered on the Register Speaker page (see below), and as can be edited on Manage > Speakers and Sessions > Speakers. (Editable.)

My Tasks – A list of the tasks assigned to the speaker by reviewers. They can click Done on each one. (Not editable.)

My Sessions – The session(s) at which the speaker is speaking. (Editable.)

Register Speaker – Submit the details of a new speaker, and upload their abstract (in formats .doc, .docx, .ppt, .pptx, or .pdf). (Editable.)

Add Abstract– Upload a new abstract. (Not editable.)

New Basic Page – Shows the contents of a new custom page you have added, as described next. (Editable.)
Adding and Editing New Pages
Click Add New (in the upper right corner of this Pages page) to add a new page to the speaker portal, to which you add your own content.
For example, you might have an FAQ page, and a Submission Guidelines page.
You see the page added to the end of the list of Pages.
Click in the Actions column to edit it.
That opens the Basic Page Details panel.
Basic Page Details

Page Title – The name shown on the navigation bar, like the Title of standard pages, described above.
Default: "New Basic Page" -
Layout > – Click to expand the Layout area and edit the page layout in the following areas:

Accessible to Speaker Type – (Required) Select the speaker type(s) who can see the page.
Note: Each speaker type may only have one added page available to them, although one page may be available to multiple speaker types.
For the first added page, you select from a list of all the speaker types set up on Manage > Speakers and Sessions > Speakers , plus " All".
For subsequent added pages, the list is of those speaker types that do not already have a page available to them.
Note about "All": If you select "All" speaker types for a page, that must be the only added page. If you've already added any others, they are deleted when you save the one available to "All". (You have the opportunity to confirm or cancel.) -
Layout Editor in the middle of the page.
Use this unlabeled area to add and format your text. Most of the buttons should be self-explanatory, except (Source code), which enables you to edit the HTML code directly instead of using the WYSIWYG editor.

Insert Graphic – To add a graphic to the layout:

Click the spot in the layout where you want to place the graphic.

Click Insert Graphic.

Click Browse, and select the file on your computer.

The image is displayed immediately in the layout. (There isn't a separate "upload" step.)

To resize the image, click it in the editor, and drag the handles on its corners (or sides).

To delete an image, click it in the layout, and press the Delete key.

Choose a Form Field – To add personalized fields to the layout from the Speaker's profile record:

Click the spot in the layout where you want to place the field.

Click Choose a Form Field to list the fields available. (Profile First Name, Profile Last Name, etc.)

Click the field to add.

Its technical name is displayed immediately in the layout. For example, @ddf.profile.firstName@} for Profile First Name.

+ ADD ANOTHER LAYOUT – Click to add another basic page, if required. Available once you have saved at least one.
Conditional Logic
You can add a Conditional Section to dynamically display additional standard fields, custom fields, headers and text conditionally based on previous selections in the Speakers Portal. See separate details of Speaker Portal Logic.
