Overview
The Check-In section is the primary workspace for event staff on the day of the event. It's where door teams and welcome desk staff mark attendees as present, monitor arrival progress in real time, and handle edge cases like missing or damaged badges.
This guide covers navigation of the Check-In section, the two check-in modes (Camera Scan and Manual Entry), and what to do when something goes wrong at the door.
Navigating to Check-In
Open the event from the Account Dashboard, then click Check-In in the left sidebar.
At the top of the page, three stat tiles update automatically as attendees arrive:
- Checked In — the running count of attendees marked present, shown as X of Y
- Pending — registrants who haven't checked in yet
- Check-In Rate — Checked In divided by total attendees, shown as a percentage
A Reports button sits in the top-right corner. Click it any time to open the full reporting view for breakdowns by session, attendee type, or time of day.
Choosing a Check-In Mode
The check-in card offers two modes. Pick the one that fits the station:
Camera Scan uses the device's camera to read the QR or barcode on each attendee's badge. It's the fastest option for high-volume entry points.
Manual Entry lets staff search by name or email. It's the right choice for the welcome desk, will-call, or any time an attendee shows up without a badge.
Camera Scan
Click the Camera Scan tab. The card displays a grey camera viewport with a Camera inactive placeholder.
Click Start Scanning at the bottom of the viewport. The first time you do this, the browser will ask for camera permission — click Allow. The live feed activates.
Hold the attendee's badge six to twelve inches from the lens, flat and centered. The scanner reads it the moment it's in focus.
After a successful read, Greet shows a green Successfully scanned notice and a Ready to check-in chip, followed by the matched attendee's name, attendee type, and a green Check In button. Click it to confirm.
Camera Scan isn't fully automatic by design. The confirmation step prevents a misread or duplicate badge from accidentally marking someone in.
If the scanned code doesn't match any registrant, Greet shows an error and the attendee stays unchecked. Switch to Manual Entry to look them up by name or email.
Manual Entry
Click the Manual Entry tab. A search field appears with a Search button on the right.
Type the attendee's name or email address, then click Search or press Enter. Greet returns matching attendees in a results panel — each row shows the attendee's name, email, company, badge type, and a green Check In button.
Click the attendee's row (or the Check In button) to check them in.
The stat tiles update immediately: Checked In ticks up by one, Pending drops by one, and the Check-In Rate refreshes. A Last Check-In Result panel appears below the search bar so staff can confirm at a glance that the right person was just marked in.
Manual Entry is also the recovery path when a badge is damaged, missing, or hasn't been printed yet. Check the attendee in first, then send them to the badge desk for a reprint.
A Few Things to Know
Stat tiles look wrong? Refresh the page once. They update live, but a browser refresh clears any display lag.
Check-in done by mistake? It can be reversed from the Attendees page. Open the kebab menu on the attendee's row and select Revert Check-In. See the Managing Attendees in Greet article for the full steps.
Camera not activating? Camera Scan requires camera permission to be granted in the browser. If the prompt didn't appear or was dismissed, update the camera permission in the browser's site settings and reload the page.
