Most blank or broken event websites come from one of a few setup causes. Start with the one that matches what you see.
The site is blank or missing sections after you copied an event
If you copied the event into a different account or sub-account, account-level items don't come with it: the content file and other custom display fields, account-level content blocks, and custom profile questions. The new event's pages point to items that don't exist in that account, so they show up blank.
Copy events within the same account, or recreate those items in the new account first. See Before you copy an event: a checklist.
"Please provide excel content file" or "event config file"
Power and PRO Template sites show one of these messages when the event can't find the file its template needs.
- Go to Plan > Event Setup > Content Display > Display Fields.
- Check that a file is attached in the content file field. If you just uploaded a new one, open the field again to make sure it saved.
- If you copied this event from another account, the file and field may not have come with it. See the section above.
See Power Template: update the content file, and fix sections that aren't showing.
A page loads, but its content is missing
Check that the page still has its content blocks. Go to Promote > Websites > Event Website, open the page, and look for content block placeholders in the editor, like <{Content Block: ...}>. If they were deleted, add them back.
The banner is wrong or won't change
Where the banner comes from depends on your template. Some templates use a banner display field under Display Fields, such as Banner Single Image. Others set the banner in the content file. Check where your template keeps it before you replace the image. See What size should my banner or header image be?.
Next step: Still not displaying? Contact Support with the event code, the page link and a screenshot.
