Step 5: Customize Look and Feel

Consider using the Certain event Display area to customize the interface for your websites and registration forms.

You have three options in Certain to configure the look-and-feel of your event:

Use a Certain built-in event template to create your event
Use basic-level settings in the Settings > Display tab
Use advanced-level settings in Settings > Display. This option requires knowledge of HTML, creating graphics for the Web, and style sheets.

The following table summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of each approach:

Display Strategy	Advantages	Disadvantages
Template	One click gets you started. No additional configuration needed to have a professional-looking online form.	Generic look-and-feel, not branded for your specific organization. Without knowledge of HTML, difficult to make any changes.
Basic Display	Brand your event without needing to know complicated programming techniques. Fast and easy.	Impossible to make complex changes. Layout is inflexible. Banner image displays at the top of every page.
Advanced Display	Match your company or organization's existing branding. Create top-quality, professional layouts. Wrap graphics around form. Use Cascading Style Sheets to optimize text formatting and form field appearance.	Requires knowledge of Web programming in HTML, creating and optimizing graphics for the Web, and Cascading Style Sheets (optional). Customization can be time-consuming. Can be difficult to troubleshoot HTML problems. Although can be done with simple text-editor, most people use additional software which can be time-consuming to learn and expensive to buy.

After you are satisfied with the event look and feel, create marketing elements to communicate with your potential attendees.
