This guide provides an overview of Greet and its integration with Certain platform for event check-in, badge printing, and attendee management. It covers navigation of the Account Dashboard, access to event-specific workspaces, and the primary areas of Greet, used before and during an event. The guide also explains how attendee data is synchronized from Certain platform into Greet and where key event operations are managed.
The Greet Account Dashboard
The Account Dashboard serves as the starting point for administrators working in Greet. It provides a centralized view of the events available within your account and allows users to access event-specific workspaces.
From the Account Dashboard, administrators can:
• View events that have been synchronized from Certain
• Search for and locate events
• Access event workspaces for event-day management
• Monitor which events are available in Greet
How Greet Connects to Certain
While Greet supports the creation of manual registrations, it primarily relies on data synchronized from Certain. Events, attendees, sessions, session registrations, and tagged registration question responses are imported from Certain on a scheduled sync. To make data available in Greet, the appropriate Greet tags must be configured in Certain. For detailed setup instructions see How to configure Event Registration Tags and Questions in Greet.
The following data is imported from Certain:
• Events
• Attendees
• Session
• Session Registrations
Because Certain serves as the source of truth for event structure and registration data, any major event or session changes should be made in Certain.
Data Synchronization
Attendee information is synchronized from Certain into Greet. After a registration is submitted in Certain, it will appear in Greet after the next scheduled sync.
Event planners can also update attendee information directly within Greet. Whether those updates are sent back to Certain depends on the Sync Back setting configured for individual registration questions under:
Settings > Synced Questions (Note: Structural changes regarding session data should be made in Certain rather than Greet.)
Settings > Synced Questions - When enabled changes made in Greet will update the corresponding data in Certain during synchronization.
Additional Note: Registration questions and attendee information displayed in Greet are determined by the Greet configuration in Certain. If expected fields or data are not appearing in Greet, verify that the appropriate tags and synchronization settings have been configured in Certain.
Navigating the Event Workspace
After selecting an event from the Account Dashboard, users can access the event workspace. The left-hand navigation menu provides access to the primary areas of Greet for event management and on-site operations.
Attendees
The Attendees section displays the attendee list for the event.
Functionalities include:
• Viewing registered attendees synchronized from Certain
• Searching and filtering attendee records
• Editing attendee information directly within Greet
Any updates made in this section may synchronize back to Certain depending on the configured Sync Back settings.
Check-In
The Check-In section serves as the primary workspace for event staff during attendee arrival.
This area is used to:
• Process event check-ins
• Search for attendees
• Verify attendee information
On event day, on-site staff will primarily use this screen to manage attendee entry and attendee tracking.
Badges
The Badge section manages badge printing configuration and attendee badge assignments.
On this area:
• Assign badge template to attendee type
• Setup and manage badge printers
• Control badge printing workflows during the event
This ensures attendees receive the correct badge format based on their attendee type.
Reports
The Reports section provides real-time event analytics and attendance reporting.
Available reporting data includes:
• Check-In counts
• Attendance summaries
• Event activity metrics
Reports update automatically as attendees are processed, allowing planners to monitor attendance throughout the event or generate final attendance summaries after the event concludes.
