Certain has implemented security measures to protect Forms by masking passwords in email and reports so that these passwords are accessible only to the specific Registrant. Two options are available to allow you to help Registrants access password protected Forms:
1. Use Certain's "Forgot Password" Feature
- Create and designate a "Forgot Password" Email Template.
- Edit the Form > Entry area to "Enable Forgot Password" > Save.
- This will add a "Forgot Password" link to the Form's login page (you have the option to edit the text of this link).
- Once "Forgot Password" is clicked, the Registrant will be asked for their email address.
- The "Forgot Password" Email Template will then be sent with a link to the Form from which it was initiated, allowing the Registrant to set their password and then log into the Form.
- With this method, you would simply include a normal link to the Form and direct the Registrant to click the "Forgot Password" link to set up their password.
2. Append "Reg ID for URL" to the Form Link
Using this method, registrants will be automatically logged into the form
- Under Promote > Email Templates, create the link to the Event one of two ways:
- Append "&PkRegID=<{Reg ID For Url}>" to the end of the Form link URL.
- Example: https://app.certain.com/profile/form/index.cfm?PKformID=0x2603286abcd&PkRegID=<{Reg ID For Url}>
- Append Both the Form ID and Reg ID to the URL.
- Example: https://app.certain.com/profile/form/index.cfm?PKformID=<{Form Id For Url: Buyer Phase 1}>&PkRegID=<{Reg ID For Url}>
- Append "&PkRegID=<{Reg ID For Url}>" to the end of the Form link URL.
- With this option, the link will log the Registrant directly into the Form. You may then include "Password" and "Confirm Password" on the Form under Registrant Details, allowing Registrants to set their password for future access.
