This how-to shows you how to move around Express. You'll switch between accounts, open an event, and see the four tabs where all of your event work happens. Once you know this pattern, the rest of Express gets a lot easier to follow.

Every screen follows the same pattern

Start on your Express dashboard. Every screen in Express is built the same way, out of three parts. The dark strip on the far left is the rail, and it holds the four areas of the product. The panel next to it lists whatever the rail is pointing at, which right now is your events. The large area on the right is where you actually do the work.

Pick an area, pick an item, then work on it on the right. That pattern holds everywhere in Express.

Switch between accounts

If you run events for more than one team, brand, or region, each of those is a separate account in Express. Click Switch at the top of your events list to move between them. The account you're in is always named right there, so it's also the quickest way to check where you are.

Click any account name to switch into it. Watch what happens: the events list changes, the brand kits across the top of Express Architect change, your registration count changes, and the Brand Identity card changes colour. Accounts are completely separate from one another, so if something you expect to see is missing, checking which account you're in is the first thing to try.

Click Switch again to go back, or click your own account name to return to it directly. Switch sits in the same place in every account, so you're never more than two clicks from any of them, and nothing you do in one account touches another.

Open an event

Click any event to open it, and two things change.

The Event Toolkit and your tabs

The panel on the left becomes your Event Toolkit, showing the event name, date, location, its ID, and how many people have registered against your capacity, broken down by attendee type and status.

A row of tabs also appears in the top right: Overview, Registrations, Form, Email, and Reports. Those tabs are everything you do for that event.

Collapse the toolkit, then find your way back

Click the double arrows to collapse the panel when you want more room to work. This tucks the Event Toolkit out of the way, and the rail stays exactly where it is, so you never lose your bearings.

Click the arrows again to bring the panel back. The trail across the top also works as navigation: click Events in it to return to your full events list, or the house icon to head back to your dashboard.

Settings and your own menu

One more thing worth knowing. At the very bottom of the rail sit two more buttons. The gear opens your Express settings. The circle with your initials is your own menu, and it's worth opening: it holds Learn, the help centre built into Express, along with Express Invites and Sign Out. The version number underneath is handy to note if you ever need to report something to support.

Rail, panel, work area, tabs. Once that pattern clicks, you'll move through Express without thinking twice about it.
