Every session has a date and time, and there's no setting to turn scheduling off. If you're using sessions as groups and don't need times yet, you can still set them up so they work.
Give the sessions a placeholder time
Set each session to a date and time inside your event dates. Many people use the same time for all of them until the real schedule is ready.
Let people pick sessions that overlap
By default, registrants can't pick two sessions that happen at the same time. If your sessions share a placeholder time, change this setting:
- Go to Plan > Event Configuration > Options.
- Under Speaker and Session Management Module, check Allow Overlapping Sessions for Registrations.
- Click Save.
Registrants can now pick more than one session with the same date and time.
Choose how sessions are grouped on the form
- Go to Plan > Forms, edit the form, and click Sessions in the left menu.
- Click the edit icon next to the session section.
- Under Group By, pick how to group the sessions: Start Date, Start Time, Type, Location, Track or Session Name. You can set up to three levels.
- Click Save.
If no Group By is chosen, sessions show in order of their instance code. If you need a specific order that Group By can't give you, contact Certain Support.
Next step: When the real schedule is ready, update each session's date and time, then decide whether overlapping picks should still be allowed.
